In Honor of
Frank [De Fina]

We built this council on the premise of how one person always found time to take the call, make the introduction, or simply allowed you to walk into his office and speak on any matter at hand. He'd tell you the truth, even when it wasn't what you wanted to hear. He knew how to make this industry stronger by personal connection and sharing his knowledge.

This council carries that forward.

What the Council Is

FRANKly Speaking is a group of approachable, experienced security professionals who have agreed to make themselves available to others in the industry. Dealers, integrators, monitoring centers, manufacturers, and the people just starting in any of them.

Council members come from across the channel. Some have built and sold companies. Some have run central stations, led sales teams, or grown RMR from the ground up. Others know product development, distribution, operations, finance, or hiring inside and out.
Each shares a willingness to help

Bring them a question about pricing or a contract. A hiring problem you can’t crack. A decision about whether to expand, acquire, or hold steady. They’ll give you a straight answer based on what they’ve actually lived.

How It Works

Connect with the Right Council Member.

01

Browse the council.

Each member lists their background and the areas where they’re most comfortable offering guidance.

02

Reach out directly.

Contact the member whose experience fits your situation. No gatekeepers, no application.

03

Have the conversation.

Many members are happy to offer an initial conversation at no cost. For deeper or ongoing work, some members offer paid consulting or advisory services, and any arrangement is strictly between you and them.

A Note on Defined Marketing's Role

Defined Marketing organizes and hosts FRANKly Speaking. We receive no compensation, referral fees, or commissions of any kind from council members or from anyone who contacts them.

We built this because Frank's approach to the industry mattered to us, and because we've seen firsthand how much one good conversation can change the direction of a business.

No one builds a successful security business alone. Somebody answers the question, shares the mistake, opens the door.

Frank did that for a lot of people. Now it's our turn.

Frankly,
That's the Point
